Mustangs seniors Rachel Spier and Maren Ewertz take a look back on what made the postseason run so special for the women's bowling program.

SIOUX CITY, IOWA – Morningside’s women’s bowling team, for the first time in program history, claimed the Kansas Collegiate Athletic Conference Bowling Championship title, taking the league’s automatic berth to the National Association of Intercollegiate Athletics National Championship.

KANSAS CITY, MO. – The National Association of Intercollegiate Athletics announced its Daktronics Scholar-Athletes for women’s bowling, releasing this year's list alongside the other winter sports.

WICHITA, KAN. – The Kansas Collegiate Athletic Conference released its women’s bowling all-conference teams this afternoon, naming Emaly Kruse KCAC Women’s Bowler of the Year and Steve Gonshorowski KCAC Women’s Bowling Coach of the Year, while placing three Mustangs to the two all-conference teams.

LAWRENCE, KAN. – Morningside’s women’s bowling team took full advantage of a final weekend of bowling before this year’s Kansas Collegiate Athletic Conference Championships, qualifying for match play of the first NAIA West Tournament in third place with 4,324 total pins. The Mustangs slid back to fourth place in head-to-head competition.

LAS VEGAS, NEV. – Morningside continued to make a case for itself as this year’s postseason qualifying deadline nears, placing no. 12 in the Tier 1 Glenn Carlson Invitational with a total of 7,284 pins.

The Mustangs’ lone home tournament will be held at Plaza Bowl in Sioux City this weekend. It’ll be the final home event for seniors Maren Ewertz, Liberty Nordstrom, and Alexis Spier.

HASTINGS, NEB. – Emaly Kruse led the Mustangs to a third place finish at the 2024 Hastings Bronco Open, with the team scoring 7,240 pins in the five-game event.

The Mustangs bowled a collective score of 7,216 pins. Emaly Kruse earned All-Tournament Team honors by placing fourth with a score of 974.

The Morningside women’s bowling team placed 13th as a team with 7,736 pins on Sunday at the Mid-States Championships held at Bowlero Bowl.
