
Mustangs place 11th at USBC Sectionals
FORT WORTH, Texas – Morningside women's bowling made the long trek to Fort Worth, Texas for the USBC Sectionals Saturday and Sunday, placing 11th.
Morningside started the first 16 games in eighth place with 2,951 pins in the first block. Morningside improved on their score in the second block, with 2,959 pins, but fell to 11th place. The Mustangs stayed in 11th place for the rest of the tournament, scoring 2,873 in the third block and 2,843 in the fourth block for a total of 11,626.
In the individual competition, Emaly Kruse scored 1,182 over six games to place 46th. Her third game score of 216 was her best of the day. Rachel Spier was second on the Mustangs with a score of 1,118 and a single-high game of 209. Carissa Johnson scored a 235 in her fifth game and finished with 1,094, good for the third best finish for a Mustang. Maren Ewertz (1,023) and Alexa Munhofen (990) rounded out the competitors for Morningside.
Morningside's 2023-24 season comes to a close with the USBC Sectionals.
