Women's basketball has seven named to NAIA scholar-athlete list
KANSAS CITY, MO. – The National Association of Intercollegiate Athletics announced its Daktronics Scholar-Athletes for women's basketball today, with the honorees being announced as teams advance to the national tournament final site in Sioux City next week.
Morningside had seven athletes receive the scholar-athlete distinction this year, Abbe Morten, Alyssa Schafer, Aspen Jansa, Lauren Hedlund, Makenna DeClue, McKenna Sims, and Sadie Roth.
In order to qualify for the NAIA scholar athlete program, a student-athlete must maintain a cumulative grade point average of 3.5, appear on a sport's eligibility certificate, and have attended one full year at the current institution.
