ORANGE CITY, IOWA – Sophomore guard Sierra Mitchell (SO/Pleasant Hill, IA) (Pleasant Hill, Iowa) ran off her 10th straight double-figure points total and extended her amazing roll of games with at least one made three-pointer to 35, highlighting Morningside College's Great Plains Athletic Conference contest Saturday, Jan. 19.

Mitchell finished the clash of top 10 National Association of Intercollegiate Athletics' Division II programs against No. 3 Northwestern College with 11 points. She was the only Mustang player ending with 10-or-more, as sophomore guard Faith Meyer (SO/Pomeroy, IA )s (Pomeroy, Iowa) came off the bench with eight to be next in line.

Their play wasn't enough to turn back a red-hot Red Raiders' side on its home Bultman Center for Health, Physical Education and Intercollegiate Athletics' floor. NWC limited head coach Jamie Sale's team, who entered the day ranked No. 9, to eight first-quarter points and only seven in the second 10 minutes to forge a 45-15 bulge in route to an 82-53 victory.

Morningside (17-5 overall, 9-5 GPAC) returns to Allee Gymnasium and the Rosen Verdoorn Sports Center Thursday, Jan. 24. No. 21-ranked Hastings College of Nebraska is their guest for a 6 p.m. start.
