SIOUX CITY, IOWA – Morningside Softball's regular season home finale came in the form of two five-inning victories over Waldorf, 8-0 and 9-1.
Adeline Fliege got the win in game 1, recording eight strikeouts and limiting Waldorf to just two hits. Morgan Secora gave up one run on three hits in game two, also earning a complete game win.
Mackenzi Harrel continued to have a bat that haunts the nightmares of pitchers today, blasting a grand slam and scoring four times, including the walk off run in game one when she stole third and scampered across home plate as the throw sailed into left field.
Jenna Skradski matched Harrel with four RBIs in the second game. Addyson Maxell totaled two, while Ellie Gengler and Kennedy Wineland each had one.
The Mustangs, who have climbed into a tie with Midland for the second place spot in the conference standings, finish the regular season at Dakota Wesleyan on Saturday at 1 p.m.
