WICHITA, Kan. — Morningside softball senior Ellie Gengler drove in both runs in Saturday's loss to Avila, 6-2.
Both of Gengler's hits were run-producing. Her first one was an RBI double in the first inning, then the Bishop Heelan alum drove in Ashlyn Caniglia in the third inning with a single.
Gengler and Paige Schuster each had two hits, and both of Schuster's hits were doubles. Lainie Keller and Jenna Skradski also had sacrifices.
Morgan Secora and Jordan Skradski pitched in the game. Secora allowed five earned runs on seven hits over three innings. She struck out three.
Jordan Skradski also pitched three innings, and she allowed one run on one hit. She struck out two.
