Two runners place inside the top 20 at the Wildcat Classic for Mustang men
WAYNE, Neb. – The Mustangs placed fifth as a team, led by Garrett Hanson and RC Hicks, at the Wayne State Wildcat Classic Friday afternoon in Wayne, Nebraska.
Hanson crossed the finish line in 17th and a time of 28:39.48. Hicks crossed 20th in 28:43.98. The next four Mustangs crossed within 15 seconds of each other to place between 27th and 33rd place. Parker Halder (29:24.1) placed 27th, followed by Casey Kruger (29:29.08) in 30th, Mason Welker (29:32.37) in 32nd, and Austin Ramold (29:38.73) in 33rd.
As a team, the Mustangs placed fifth with 103 points. Wayne State took the team title, followed by Mount Marty, Dordt, and Midland.
Morningside cross country is in action on homecoming Saturday, running at Adams Nature Preserve in the Briar Cliff Invite Oct. 7.
