
Mustangs check in at no. 23 in latest poll
KANSAS CITY, MO. – The fifth iteration of the National Association of Intercollegiate Athletics Men's Wrestling Coaches' Top 25 was released this week, seeing Morningside climb to no. 23.
The Mustang men, who were previously receiving votes, were the biggest mover in the poll, displacing Cornerstone from the 23rd position.
In addition to Morningside climbing in the team rankings, five Mustangs are also ranked individually. Hunter Steffans is ranked 22nd individually at 141 pounds, Abraham Dirkx is ranked 23rd at 157 pounds, Zander Ernst is no. 7 at 165 pounds, Alex Vandyke is 25th at 174 pounds, and Jakob Jerabek is no. 9 at 285 pounds.
The Mustangs head to the Minnesota West Open Saturday, beginning at 9 a.m. in Worthington, Minn., before returning home on Tuesday for a Great Plains Athletic Conference dual with Dakota Wesleyan.
