Diener named GPAC wrestler of the week

SIOUX CITY, IOWA – For the fourth time in five weeks, Morningside has claimed the Great Plains Athletic Conference wrestler of the week honor, with this week's title going to John Diener. 

Diener's honor comes following a 2-0 week, receiving a forfeit against the Bethany Swedes before working to an 11-1 major decision over Ottawa University's Hunter Wagner, who ranks no. 19 in the nation, according to the National Association of Intercollegiate Athletics final coaches' poll of the season.

Morningside, ranked no. 10 in the same poll, prepares for the GPAC wrestling tournament and NAIA national qualifier this weekend, held Friday and Saturday at Doane University in Crete, Neb.
