Vasquez receives weekly GPAC honor

SIOUX CITY, IOWA – The Great Plains Athletic Conference announced today that Taylor Vasquez was this week's wrestler of the week. 

Vasquez, who wrestles at the 133-pound weight class, won a 5-3 decision over Briar Cliff's CaRon Watson, who is ranked no. 22 in the National Association of Intercollegiate Athletics' most recent individual rankings. The decision came early in Morningside's 42-4 victory over the Chargers, preventing BCU from gaining momentum.

Vasquez' receipt of the weekly honor terminates Doane University's streak of selections, as the Tigers have received the honor all seven previous weeks.
