Men's volleyball falls in regular season road finale

PALOS HEIGHTS, ILL. – It was another knock-down, drag-out match for the Mustangs as they squared off with the Trinity Christian Trolls in their final road game of the 2023 men's volleyball regular season. Morningside, looking to rebound from yesterday's hard-fought loss at Graceland, fell to Trinity Christian in four sets, 27-25, 25-18, 25-27, and 25-16.

Morningside had 53 kills in the day's match, hitting a combined .218 with 55 assists. The defense totaled four blocks and 33 digs.

The Mustangs were led by Nathn Alves, with 19 kills, and Kahakai Kahoiwai, with 16. Dylan Hamil had six kills, Tharen Cox had five, and Erik Krenz had four kills. Jacob DePauw had three kills alongside 45 assists.

Owen Anderson had 10 digs in the four-setter, followed by DePauw with seven, Kahoiwai with five, and Hamil with four digs.

Krenz had the team's lone solo block, while Tharen Cox had three block assists, splitting duties with Alves, Hamil, and Kahoiwai.

Morningside is back in Allee Gym next Thursday, March 16, when they will host Dordt in the teams' final regular season meeting. Jamestown will be in Sioux City on Saturday for Morningside's senior day and the regular season finale.
