Mside resumes slate in Classic

SIOUX CITY, IOWA – Morningside College hosted the GPAC Classic Saturday, Feb. 20, a showcase of the four men's volleyball teams competing in the inaugural season of men's volleyball in the Great Plains Athletic Conference. The Mustangs went 0-2 on the day, playing Dordt University and the University of Jamestown.

Mside opened the day in Allee Gym with the Dordt University Defenders, dropping the match in straight sets, 25-18, 25-21, and 25-20. Morningside put together a better defensive effort than the last time the two teams met, counting 17 more digs than the prior engagement. The team also recorded three additional assists on five more assists, one week later than the initial meeting.

Morningside's match with Jamestown also indicated some improvement, despite the 25-14, 25-11, 25-10 loss, recording improvements across the board. Today's Mustangs recorded seven additional kills with six more assists and four more digs.
