Mustang men open outdoor season at Wayne State

WAYNE, NEB. – Morningside Men's Track and Field competed at the Wayne State Wildcat Classic yesterday starting a busy weekend of track and field action. 

Eein McKinley was Morningside's top finisher on the track, placing fourth in the 5,000-meter run with a time of 18:35.99 as he competed against a pack of Northwestern Red Raiders.

Jack Kling added a sixth-place finish in the 400-meter dash, crossing the line in 52.40 seconds. Kling also finished no. 13 in the 200-meter dash with a time of 22.73 seconds. Teammate Don Vita finished no. 24 in 23.61 seconds. Aidan Long recorded a new personal record in the 800-meter run, setting his new best at 2:23.05 seconds.

Tom Moss was the Mustangs' lone competitor in Wayne's field events, recording a throw of 43.41 meters, which was good for seventh place.

Morningside's weekend continues tomorrow, with a group continuing to compete at Fayette, Mo. in the Central Methodist Invite.
