Mustang men have strong showing at SDSU

BROOKINGS, S.D. –The Morningside men's track team came to compete this weekend at the South Dakota State University Open.

Leighton Olesen was Morningside's top finisher, qualifying for the finals in the 60-meter dash with a seventh place finish in the prelims in 6.95 seconds.

Kadyn Cline took 12th in the men's 600-meter run with a time of 1.24.05, followed closely by Casey Kruger in 17th at 1.25.49. Chayton Rowe and Rodrigo Lopez both set new personal records in this race as well with 23rd and 29th place finishes, in times of 1.26.69 and 1.33.13 respectively. 

RC Hicks took 19th in the men's 1,000-meter run with a time of 2.41.61, followed by Austin Ramold in 20th with a time of 2.43.82. Both Hicks and Ramold recorded new personal records in the race. 

The Mustangs also finished eighth in the Men's 4x400-meter relay with a time of 3.21.13.

Morningside is back in action at the Mount Marty Last Chance meet on Feb. 7 and at the Wayne State Wildcat Open on Feb. 8.
