
Mustang men debut with trio of top 10 performances
TOPEKA, KAN. – Morningside's men's track and field team made its 2024-25 debut this weekend, sending a delegation to the Washburn Alumni Invite in Topeka, Kan.
The Mustangs had a few top 10 performances in their season debut, competing in a field of teams that originated from across a seven-state region.
Chayton Rowe and Kadyn Cline picked up 8th and 10th place finishes in the 800-meter run, respectively, with Rowe crossing the finish line in 2:07.54 and Cline less than four seconds behind in 2:11.34.
Laken Bellis matched Rowe's placing as he took eighth in the 600-yard run, finishing in 1:15.85.
Morningside is back on the track next week, competing in the Bulldog Early Bird meet at Concordia University in Seward, Neb. before hanging up the spikes until 2025.
