SIOUX CITY, IOWA – The Mustangs got another big win in men's tennis, earning a 7-0 sweep over Hastings in their second Great Plains Athletic Conference match of the season.

Mathys Arnold and Jesse Gerth got the ball rolling as they won the no. 3 doubles match 6-1. Marcos Menendez Hervella and Alexis Diaz followed with a 6-2 win at no. 2, and Mark Trenkle and Santiago Minetti matched with their own 6-2 win in the no. 1 slot.

Trenkle turned around and won no. 1 singles 6-0, 6-1, pushing the needle farther in Morningside's direction. Diaz rolled with the momentum on his way to a 6-1, 6-3 victory, and Menendez Hervella clinched the team win with a 6-4, 6-3 victory at no. 2 singles.

Arnold blanked his opponent in the no. 5 spot, 6-0, 6-0; Minetti won 6-3, 6-0 at no. 4; and Gerth won 6-1, 6-1 to complete the sweep.

Morningside is headed to Seward, Neb. on Thursday to take on Concordia at noon in another GPAC match.
