
Morningside wins four races over Prairie Wolves
LINCOLN, Neb. — The Morningside University men's swimming team won four different events Saturday against Nebraska Wesleyan.
John Spicer earned two of those wins. Spicer was first in the 50-yard freestyle with a time of 21.78 seconds, then touched the wall first in the 500-yard freestyle in 5:03.27.
Jake Bolda took the win in the 400 individual medley with a time of 4:28.37.
The final win came during the 200 medley relay, as Justin Bay, Caden Morton, Jack LaRue and Spicer teamed up to win it in 1:39.07 in a 119-73 loss.
The Mustangs had three second-place finishes, too. Bay was second in the 100 freestyle (49.37), LaRue in the 200 free (1:53.04) and the 200 free relay in 1:31.86.
Alec McEntaffer placed third in the 400 individual medley, swimming the race in 4:52.15, and Cael Jensen was third in the 100 backstroke in 59.31.
Mateus Kozlowski was fourth in the 200 freestyle in 1:54.88, as was the 'B' 200-free relay team was fourth in 1:40.65.
The following Mustangs also finished fourth: Ethan Van Tassel in the 500 free (5:53.86), Gabe Marthaler in the 400 IM (1:04.87), and Jacob Haase in the 100 butterfly (1:04.87).
Next up for the Mustangs is the KCAC Championships on Feb. 13-15 in Hobart, Indiana.
