SIOUX CITY, IOWA – A first-half Hastings score was too much for the Mustangs to overcome in the Great Plains Athletic Conference Men's Soccer Postseason Tournament semifinal round today. The Broncos would add an insurance goal in the second half, moving on to the championship with a 2-0 win.
The Mustangs outshot their equestrian counterparts 15-14 in the match, but their three shots on goal paled in comparison to the Broncos' seven.
Tim Teschnter was the keeper of record for Morningside. The freshman tallied five saves in the 2-0 loss.
Morningside ends its tournament run in the semifinals, advancing as the no. 1 seed, after a 2-0 quarterfinal win over Dakota Wesleyan.
