SIOUX CITY, Iowa – A first half goal lifted Morningside to a 1-0 win over Hastings in the GPAC Quarterfinals Wednesday night at Elwood Olsen Stadium.
In the 21st minute, Jurre Thielen's free kick was put in by Levi Von Hagen to give the Mustangs the advantage.
In the second half, things got chippy, as eight cards were handed out. Timon Koerber held strong in goal and the Mustangs advanced. Koerber totaled five saves in the win.
Von Hagen totaled four shots on goal in the win.
Morningside is back in action in the semifinals of the GPAC Tournament Saturday against Briar Cliff across town at 1 p.m.
