SEWARD, Neb. – Going toe-to-toe with the undefeated No. 22 Bulldogs, Morningside came away with a road 0-0 draw at Concordia Wednesday night.
The Mustangs were the aggressors throughout the match, having more shots on goal (9) than the Bulldogs had total shots in the match (7). Max Sickenberger totaled five shots, three on goal to pace the Morningside attack. He was the lone Mustang with more than one shot on goal in the match.
Defensively, Timon Koerber carried the momentum he had from last week's GPAC Defensive Player of the Week performances into Wednesday night, keeping the Bulldogs off the board and recording two saves. He was aided by strong defenders in front of him, who didn't allow a shot on goal past them in the second half.
Morningside has another tough test at home Saturday, hosting Dordt at 6 p.m.
