SIOUX CITY, Iowa – A first half goal from the Mustangs was the difference Wednesday night as Morningside defeated Doane 1-0 at Elwood Olsen Stadium.
In the 14th minute, a Niklas Kneller pass found Levi Von Hagen for an early Mustang goal that wound up the game winner. Von Hagen made the most of his opportunity, as it was the lone shot on goal for him in the match.
In goal, Timon Koerber recorded a shutout, totaling four saves. It is Koerber's fourth shutout in five appearances (four starts).
Max Sickenberger led the Mustangs with three shots on goal and four total shots. Niklas Kneller had four shots, two of which were on goal, and the assist on the game winner.
