Morningside falls 3-0 to Northwestern

Trio of Raider goals too much for Morningside

ORANGE CITY, IOWA – A first-half goal proved to be too much for Morningside to overcome, with a pair of second-half goals providing insurance for the Raiders in a mid-week Great Plains Athletic Conference match. The Mustangs are 3-3-3 and 2-1 in the league following the loss.

Oliver Melander had five saves in his return to the net, posting a .625 save percentage in the contest. Morningside also recorded a save by another defender.

The Mustangs had eight shots on goal and 10 total shots in 90 minutes of play, led by Gero Zarbo and Jonas Markfoged, with two shots on goal each. Johannes Lang tallied three total shots, with one on goal.

Morningside prepares for Doane University next, with the two teams clashing at Elwood Olsen Stadium on Wednesday, Sept. 27.
