Regular season wraps in a draw

MITCHELL, S.D. – Morningside's men's soccer team played to a draw in its final regular season game of the 2022 season, adding another tally to the ties column after a 1-1 stalemate.

The Mustangs played from behind again, as Dakota Wesleyan got on the board in the first 15 minutes of play. The goal against Bjarne Huth would be the only shot on goal that Dakota Wesleyan would get off, taking just two total shots in the contest.

Morningside, on the other hand, took 20 shots and recorded fifteen shots on goal. It wasn't until the 79th minute of the contest that Gero Zarbo was able to hit the equalizer, finally getting one past the DWU keeper.

The Mustangs were awarded the sixth seed in the 2022 Great Plains Athletic Conference posteseason tournament, and will travel to no. 3 Dordt on Thursday, Nov. 3, for a 5 p.m. contest.
