SIOUX CITY, IOWA – The Mustangs kept out of the loss column as they came from behind to tie Concordia University, 2-2. Morningside overcame a two-goal deficit the final 45 minutes of play to reduce the damage as they fight for position in the Great Plains Athletic Conference standings.

The Mustangs found themselves in trouble early, as Concordia recorded the game's first goal with only three minutes off the clock. The second goal came with seven minutes to play in the first half.

On the other side of halftime, Morningside went to work, scoring nine minutes into the period as Robin Thomala took a pass from Johannes Lang and buried it in the net.

Ten minutes later, Morningside was threatening again, when a Concordia foul in the 18 yard box sent the Mustangs to the penalty kick spot. Thomala took the kick, sending the net fluttering as the ball sailed into the back and the equalizer registered on the scoreboard.

Bjarne Huth was the keeper of record for Morningside, receiving credit for the tie after recording three saves and allowing two balls past.

The Mustangs are back on the pitch on Saturday, traveling to Dordt University to play the Defenders.
