Impressive program streak continues

YANKTON, S.D. – Junior goalkeeper Bjarne Huth (Bad Vilbel, Germany) posted his third 90-minute clean sheet of the season, leading Morningside University to wind up a .500 week Saturday, Oct. 23.

Huth tracked down three saves and got another one from a defensive teammate to preserve the Mustangs' bedrock effort. With that backline in play, head coach Tom Maxon's offense went to work. Senior midfielder Moritz Lusch (Bielefield, Germany), sophomore forward Johannes Lang (Groebenzell, Germany), and senior midfielder Noah Jorritsma (Leipzig, Germany) each found the back of the Mount Marty University net en route to a 3-0 Great Plains Athletic Conference victory.

Morningside, reaching the 10-win mark for a fourth straight year, out-shot its host 13-6. Lusch and junior forward Robin Thomala (Wipshausen, Germany) combined for five tries, all of which were on goal.

The Mustangs, sitting fourth on the loop standings and just a half-game out of third, wrap up the regular season Saturday, Oct. 30. Dakota Wesleyan University visits Elwood Olsen Stadium for an 8 p.m. kickoff.
