Badger leads Mustangs in Vegas finale

LAS VEGAS, NEV. – The Mustangs hit the lanes again to compete in their second Tier I tournament of this year's Las Vegas trip, the 2023 Collegiate Shootout. With a team total of 8,023 pins, Morningside's men finished the event ranked no. 40 of the 48 teams in attendance. 

The Mustangs 8,023 pins included 5,257 from 30 individual games and 2,766 from Baker games. Alex Badger led the way individually, with 1,145 pins and a six-game average of 190.8 pins per game. 

Brenden Lewis followed Badger, with an average of 187.2 pins per game across six games for 1,123 total pins. Nick Philthilath ranked third for Morningside with 1,021 pins and a six-game average of 170.2, and Seth Nelson averaged 182.6 pins per game for five games for a total of 913 pins.

Morningside now goes quiet until mid-January before they compete in the Kegel Midwest Collegiate Classic Jan. 13 and 14. in Addison, Ill.
