
Morningside men place sixth in home invitational
SIOUX CITY, IOWA – Morningside's men's bowling team got a break from weekends on the road as they hosted the Mustang Invite last weekend, taking over Sioux City's bowling centers for the two-day event. The men finished the tournament in sixth place with 7,151 total pins, with Nick Philthilath ranking no. 10 overall to lead the Mustangs individually.
Philthilath's total of 934 pins included a single-game high of 248 and an average of 186.8 pins per game. Alex Badger was second in line for Morningside with 914 pins and a best game of 222, and Brenden Lewis was third with 904 pins and a high of 202. Badger placed 15th in the individual standings, with Lewis coming 18th.
Michael Swancutt led the JV Mustangs to a sixth place finish in their group, recording an individual total of 779 pins.
Morningside's next outing comes as part of a four day marathon in Las Vegas, Nev., as the Mustangs compete in the Las Vegas Invite on Dec. 18 and 19 and the Collegiate Shootout Dec. 20 and 21.
