RV Mustangs' win streak comes to an end

MITCHELL, S.D. — The Morningside men's basketball team saw its seven-game winning streak come to an end Wednesday, as Dakota Wesleyan topped the Mustangs 99-90.

The RV Mustangs made 55 percent of their shots in the loss, and they connected on 12 of 28 3-point attempts.

Morningside (20-6, 13-5 GPAC) had four double-digit scorers in the loss: Joey Skoff (26), Aidan Vanderloo (12), Caleb Dreckman (12) and Justin Sitti (11). Skoff made 10 of 14 shots.

Brendan Buckley, Alex Wilcoxson, Dreckman, Skoff, and Vanderloo each hit two 3s.

Sitti and Wilcoxson both had five rebounds, while Wilcoxson stole three Tiger passes.

Dakota Wesleyan took the lead for good with 1 minute, 46 seconds left in the first half. The Tigers shot 62 percent in the win.
