Seven mens' basketball Morningsiders named to NAIA scholar-athlete list

KANSAS CITY, MO. – The National Association of Intercollegiate Athletics announced its Daktronics Scholar-Athletes for men's basketball today, with the honorees being announced ahead of the national tournament in Kansas City, Mo. next week.

Morningside had seven athletes receive the scholar-athlete distinction this year, Ethan Alfers, Brendan Buckley, Jack Dotzler, Charlie Fletcher, Dylan Johnson, Will Pottebaum, and Trey Powers.

In order to qualify for the NAIA scholar athlete program, a student-athlete must maintain a cumulative grade point average of 3.5, appear on a sport's eligibility certificate, and have attended one full year at the current institution.
