Morningside claims basketball victory over Grand View

DES MOINES, IOWA – The Mustangs picked up their second win of the season today, taking advantage of a strong first half to separate themselves from Grand View, coming away with a 73-59 victory. 

Morningside, now 2-0, saw three of its starters with double-digit scoring totals, with Jack Dotzler, Will Pottebaum, and Joey Skoff each recording 16 points. Brendan Buckley had nine, and Ely Doble had six. Dylan Johnson and Justin Sitti combined for 10 points coming off the bench. As a team, the Mustangs shot almost 43 percent, while shooting 80 percent from the free throw line.

Skoff was Morningside's leading rebounder, with 12 total rebounds, 11 of which came on defense. Sitti had three offensive rebounds, paired with three defensive grabs.

The Mustangs are back on the court on Nov. 12, playing Dakota Wesleyan in their Great Plains Athletic Conference and home opener.
