Ryan named AFCA Region 4 Coach of the Year

WACO, TEXAS – For the 12th time in his career, Steve Ryan has been named the American Football Coaches Association NAIA Coach of the Year for Region 4.

Ryan's Mustangs have posted an impressive 2024 campaign so far, posting a 10-1 record to secure the Great Plains Athletic Conference title. The team leads the nation in total offense, passing yards, passing yards per game, and first downs, while ranking in the top 10 in many other categories.

This year's award moves him to second on the all-time list behind Larry Kehres of Mount Union, and to the top of the active list. It also places Morningside fourth, behind Mount Union, North Dakota State, and Nebraska.

Ryan is now a finalist for the 2024 AFCA National Coach of the Year award, which will be announced at the AFCA convention on December 16.
