Three Mustangs named NAIA All-Americans

KANSAS CITY, Mo. – Three Mustangs earned All-America status Wednesday morning, announced by the NAIA.

Lonell Boyd Jr. was named to the first team of the AFCA NAIA Coaches' All-America Team. Boyd Jr., a redshirt junior defensive back from St. Louis, Missouri, earned first team honors as a leader of a stout Morningside defense. He totaled 100 tackles, nine tackles for a loss, five interceptions, three pass breakups, and two blocks.

Isaac Pingel and Riley Lindberg were both named to the NAIA Coaches' Third Team.

Pingel is a redshirt junior linebacker from Spencer, Iowa. He tallied 113 tackles, 11-and-a-half tackles, six sacks, four pass breakups, and in interception.

Lindberg is a senior offensive lineman from Fremont, Nebraska. Lindberg anchored an offensive line that allowed just 23 sacks and gave quarterbacks enough time to pass for 226.9 yards per game over 12 games. The line helped create rushing lanes where the Mustangs averaged 204.7 rushing yards per game.
