Norton named GPAC Offensive Player of the Week

SIOUX CITY, Iowa – After grabbing a pair of touchdowns for the Mustangs Saturday, Zach Norton is this week's Great Plains Athletic Conference Offensive Player of the Week.

Norton, a junior from Sioux Falls, hauled in 11 passes and totaled 236 all-purpose yards in Morningside's 47-17 win over Mount Marty. Norton had two touchdown receptions and averaged more than 20 yards-per-reception. 

The first of two touchdowns came on a 28-yard pass from Cash Parker in the second quarter. The second score came in a pivotal moment in the fourth quarter. With the Mustangs leading 27-17 early in the fourth quarter, Parker connected with Norton for a 66-yard touchdown to give the Mustangs a three-score lead. 

This is the first player of the week award for Norton this season, and the third of his career. The Mustangs remain at home this Saturday as they face Midland at 1 p.m. at Elwood Olsen Stadium.
