More than two dozen Mustangs are Daktronics Scholar Athletes

KANSAS CITY, MO. – The National Association of Intercollegiate Athletics announced its Daktronics Scholar Athletes for football today, with the honorees being announced ahead of the national championship game in Durham, N.C.

Morningside had 27 athletes qualify for the scholar-athlete distinction this year. They are Aidan Queen, Alexander Stoltzfus, Benedict Steffens, Ben Chelsvig, Brandon Beeson, Braydon Cleeton, Bryson Freeberg, Caden Schulte, Caleb Schweigart, Dylan Hosek, Ethan Owen, Fred Lageschulte, Isaac Bower, Isaac Pingel, Jack Sievert, John Sievert, Jonathan Andreasen, Joe Dolincheck, Joshua Miller, Kale Bird, K.J. Williams, Lennx Brown, Logan Schuelke, Tate Kounkel, Tyler Strauss, Weston Schultz, and Zach McKee.

In order to qualify for the NAIA scholar athlete program, a student-athlete must maintain a cumulative grade point average of 3.5, appear on a sport's eligibility certificate, and have attended one full year at the current institution.
