18 all-conference honors for Morningside athletes

Dolincheck, Ryan among Mustangs honored in GPAC football awards

SIOUX CITY, IOWA – The Morningside football team was well represented on the 2022 Great Plains Athletic Conference all-conference list, including offensive player of the year, Joe Dolincheck. Joe joins 11 other first team, four second team, and three honorable mention selections. Steve Ryan was also selected the 2022 GPAC Coach of the Year.

Dolincheck, a repeat as the offensive player of the year, leads a first team offense that is packed with Morningsiders, including Ryan Cole, Austin Johnson, Zach Norton, Tyler Anderson, and Riley Lindberg on offense. On defense, Weston Schultz, Jalen Portis, Isaac Pingel, Lonell Boyd Jr., and Dijion Walls were all selected. Michael Payne was selected to the first team as a punt return specialist.

The Mustangs on the second team included Jack Sievert, Jonah Kollbaum, Drew Bessey, and Jacob Murphy.

Sione Tuifua, Cooper Von Seggern, and Joshua Miller were selected honorable mention all-conference.

Ryan has received 11 GPAC coach of the year awards, with the previous six consecutive honors going to the Morningside coach.
