Wingert earns @NAIAFBALL weekly award

Morningside University senior linebacker Tyler Wingert (Holstein, Iowa) picked up @NAIAFBALL on Twitter Defensive Player of the Week honors Monday, Dec. 6.

Wingert continued to be nearly unstoppable for opposing offenses, recording his seventh double-digit tackle total of the season. His 19 during a 28-19 Mustangs' National Association of Intercollegiate Athletics' semifinal round victory over Great Plains Athletic Conference rival Northwestern College on Dec. 4 tied a personal career single-game high for the second time in his last three outings. His 19 tackles tied a program post-season single-game record he set against Ottawa University of Arizona in the first round Nov. 20.

Wingert joins senior running back Anthony Sims (Fort Lauderdale, Fla.), senior quarterback Joe Dolincheck (Bellevue, Neb.), and senior linebacker Jalen Portis (St. Louis, Mo.) in being honored by @NAIAFBALL on Twitter.
