Wingert captures final 2021 player of the week award

SIOUX CITY, IOWA – The Great Plains Athletic Conference again included Morningside in its Players of the Week, presented by Hauff Mid-America Sports.  Representing the Mustangs for week 12, was Tyler Wingert, capturing the defensive title for the final week of GPAC competition.

Wingert, who is a senior from Holstein, Iowa, led the Mustangs with 15 total tackles, five of which were solo tackles.  He was also credited with 1.5 sacks in the regular season finale, and recorded four tackles for losses.

Wingert and the rest of the Mustangs will resume action in the first round of the NAIA's Football Championship Series, hosting Ottawa University of Arizona on Nov. 20.
