Morningside concludes regular season, readies for playoffs
A three seed in Valorant and a pair of fourth seeds in Overwatch and League of Legends await Morningside College in the GG League playoff first-round competitions Wednesday and Thursday, Nov. 4 and 5.
Head coach Jared Amundson's Mustangs ended their fall regular-season slate in a bit of dip, dropping three of their final four matches. The lone victory in that period went to League of Legends which dispatched Central Michigan University 2-0 on Oct. 29.
"We continue to see steady improvements week to week," Amundson pointed out. "it hasn't been quite enough in some cases, but we have seen victories, across all disciplines, throughout the fall against some tough competition. Our coaching staff is hopeful of more success as the playoffs begin."
The Valorant and Overwatch squads are scheduled for action Wednesday against Amarillo College of Texas' AC Badger unit and Hawkeye Community College of Iowa's Redtail Academy respectively. The League of Legends follows Thursday against the University of Iowa's Team Ocean.
