Overwatch team opens regular-season on high note
SIOUX CITY, IOWA – Morningside College's stellar start to the 2020-21 ESports campaign continued Monday and Tuesday, Sept. 21 and 22.
Buoyed by Keonte Robertson (NA) (Watertown, N.Y.) and Lane Poulson (NA) (LeMars, Iowa), head coach Jared Amundson's Overwatch team dropped just one game in series versus Eastern Illinois University and Hawkeye Community College of Iowa.
"There was lots of great communication from the team," Amundson said. "As this season moves forward, I think our communication will be one of our strongest assets. I and the other coaches could not be happier with the way this fall season has started. We're all looking forward to our next game."
Robertson was named Player of the Game against EIU, while Poulson earned similar accolades against HCC.
"Keonte's teamwork in saving players and his ultimate ability usage were big (against Eastern Illinois)," Amundson noted. "Lane deserved every bit of his honor Tuesday. He played out of his mind."
