Dance to return to NAIA Nationals
KANSAS CITY, MO. – The National Association of Intercollegiate Athletics revealed its qualifying fields for the 2025 NAIA Competitive Dance National Championship tonight, adding two competition dates to the Mustangs' schedule for the eighth time.
Morningside joins the qualifying field as an at-large qualifier after placing third in the Great Plains Athletic Conference Championship. Six at-large qualifiers, who are selected based on their regular season scores, join the six conference champions to complete the 12-team field.
The Mustangs, who have appeared in eight of the nine championship events, make their 10th trip to the NAIA's highest stage, going back to the two seasons that dance was in its invitational stage before becoming a championship sport. They are one of three teams in the qualifying field that has claimed a national title.
Morningside will take the floor for their preliminary performance on March 28 in Ypsilanti, Mich.
