Mustangs post season-high score at GPAC Championships

SEWARD, NEB. – Morningside had a strong showing at this year's Great Plains Athletic Conference Dance Championship, posting its two best scores of the year to take third place. The total score for the Mustangs was 88.52 points, combining both preliminary round and final round scores. 

Morningside was sitting second following the preliminary round of competition, scoring 88.57 points. Following the round, fewer than five points separated the top three competitors, Midland, Morningside, and Doane. 

With the final performance order set based on prelims, Morningside hit an 88.50 their second time on the floor. Midland and Doane both scored better than 90 points in the finals to take first and second place. 

The Mustangs will await the announcement of at-large qualifying teams for the National Association of Intercollegiate Athletics Competitive Dance National Championship, with the conference competition strengthening their season portfolio.
