SIOUX CENTER, IOWA – A busy weekend of Morningside Dance culminated in an event championship for the Mustangs, as they took the top spot at the Dordt Invitational with an 83.80. Morningside warmed up for the weekend with a dual with Doane, where the Mustangs posted a 75.75.
Morningside's title-winning routine bests its previous high score for the season, inching past the 83.60 that was posted a week earlier at Concordia, and moves the team to the no. 12 spot in the nation at the time of writing.
The Mustangs will compete on their home floor again on March 1 as part of a virtual competition with McPherson and Hastings in a final performance before March 8's Great Plains Athletic Conference Dance Championship.
