Morningside sees tough competition in Grand View dual
SIOUX CITY, IOWA – The Morningside dance team took advantage of another early look at high level competition as it squared off with Grand View University last night. The thinnest of margins separated the two teams, but it was Morningside whose score was higher as the announcements rang out over the hushed crowd that had gathered in Allee Gym.
"Grand View is a tough competitor that we usually wouldn't see until nationals," explained Alisha Knowler, coach of the Mustangs.
"I'm happy with tonight's performance, especially because we had some bumps earlier in the week that we needed to overcome to put a good performance on the floor," said Knowler. "Right now we're just taking it one competition at a time and one practice at a time."
Morningside's last chance to perform for a panel of judges before the NAIA national qualifier and GPAC invitational is it's next competition, the Dordt University invitational on February 19 in Sioux Center.
"It's going to be here fast, but we still have a long way to go and a lot to do," reflected Knowler.
