CRETE, NEB. – A ninth inning comeback against Jamestown landed just short as Morningside's Great Plains Athletic Conference tournament run came to a close, as the Jimmies collected a walk off win in the bottom of the ninth, 4-3.
The Mustangs had runs driven in by Aiden Bishop and Cade Nolan, while Nick Grajeda had the lone extra-base hit for Morningside. Brian Garcia, Ryan Kiolbassa, Bishop, and Blackmon all collected hits in the contest.
Bishop was good for 8.0 innings on the mound, scattering seven hits with one earned run and four strikeouts.
The Mustangs will wait to see if their season continues with an at-large berth in the National Association of Intercollegiate Athletics Opening Round, with qualifiers being released on May 9.
