Willers latest Mustang to earn player of the week honors

SIOUX CITY, IOWA – Morningside's Jayson Willers was named this week's Great Plains Athletic Conference baseball player of the week, following a six-game week for the Mustangs.

Willers led the team with 12 hits on the week including a pair of home runs and a pair of doubles. He drove in eight RBIs, hitting .545 with a slugging percentage of .909.

Willers was perfect behind the plate, fielding 1.000 in 48 total chances. The sophomore had 44 punchouts and four assists, catching three runners in the act of stealing a base.
