Morningside places 25 programs on NAIA Scholar Team list
KANSAS CITY, MO. – The National Association of Intercollegiate Athletics celebrated its annual National Awards Day today, announcing national awards recipients, the next hall of fame class, and the scholar teams for the 2024-25 academic year.
Morningside was one of numerous institutions to place 25 teams on the scholar team list, all sharing the top spot. The Mustangs shared second place last year with 25 teams qualifying.
Honorees for the Mustangs include Baseball, Men's and Women's Basketball, Men's and Women's Bowling, Cheer, Men's and Women's Cross Country, Dance, Football, Men's and Women's Golf, Men's and Women's Indoor Track and Field, Men's and Women's Outdoor Track and Field, Men's and Women's Soccer, Softball, Men's and Women's Swimming, Men's and Women's Tennis, and Men's and Women's Volleyball.
In order for a team to be considered an NAIA Scholar Team, the team must hold a 3.0 grade point average for the academic year, including every varsity athlete that is listed on the eligibility certificate.
