
Eight Mustang efforts reach top 10 in 2024-25 debut

Fifteen days removed from her appearance at the 2024 National Association of Intercollegiate Athletics Cross Country National Championships, Courtney Sporrer took third place in the 5,000-meter run, finishing in 18:13.79.
Ikilas Hasan took fifth in the 800-meter run, completing the circuit in 2:32.04.
Olivia Amberntsson made her Morningside debut with a sixth place finish in the 60-meter hurdles, crossing the line in the finals in 9.36 seconds.
Teammates Morgan Sachs and Jolee Mesz finished seventh and eighth in the 600-yard run, crossing in 1:33.93 and 1:34.21, respectively.
In throws, Shelby Mills placed sixth in the weight throw, reaching a distance of 14.81 meters, while in shot put, Jacee Tindall recorded a mark of 11.75 meters.
The night's final event, the 4x400-meter relay, saw the foursome of Lauren Wehrebein, Sydney Brouwer, Sachs, and Hasan cross the finish line in fourth place in a time of 4:13.47.
Morningside heads to Seward, Neb. on December 14 for the Bulldog Early Bird meet to wrap up the 2024 part of its season.
