
Morningside picks up non-conference victory over Mount Marty
SIOUX CITY, IOWA – The Mustangs were able to add another non-conference victory to their record on a blustery Wednesday afternoon, as Morningside sidestepped Mount Marty 5-2 in women's tennis at the Mason Family Tennis Complex.
Morningside got started on the right foot, as duos of Line Jensen and Brooke Marshall and Stefany Simplicio and Kailee Bailey each picked up 6-2 victories to earn the doubles point.
Simplicio added a 6-2, 6-3 victory at no. 3 singles; Jensen won 6-1, 6-4 at no. 1; and Marshall won 6-4, 6-2 at no. 2 to lock up the victory. Ellie Peterson added a victory at no. 6, winning a 6-4 opening set and securing the win with a 10-7 tiebreaker.
The Mustangs hold a 4-0 record as they head into the winter break.
