
800 freestyle relay leads Mustangs' weekend
HOBART, Ind. — The Morningside University women's swimming team placed ninth Saturday in the KCAC Swimming and Diving Championships, hosted by Olivet Nazarene.
The top-placing relay competed by Delaney Biesecker, Alice Mahoney, Lily Schwickerath, and Haley Snawerdt was the 800-yard free relay. Those four finished the race in 8 minutes, 35.96 seconds. That was a 47-second improvement off their entry time.
The other relay that finished in the Top 8 was the 200-yard freestyle relay. The same four swimmers teamed up to swim the race in 1:46.04.
Mahoney placed eighth in the 200-yard breaststroke in 2:26.38, and she swam 1.63 seconds faster in the finals than in her prelim race.
The Mustangs scored 123 points.
