Mustangs win seven events in Iowa Lakes victory

SIOUX CITY, IOWA – The Mustangs led in the team standings from the opening event of this weekend's dual with Iowa Lakes, as the women touched the wall first in seven of the meet's nine events. Morningside won the meet 87-22.

Morningside's 200-yard medley relay got the meet started, as Delaney Biesecker, Alice Mahoney, Olivia Ramaeker, and Lily Schwickerath were first in the pool and on the scoreboard.

Biesecker joined Schwickerath, Haley Snawerdt, and Kaylee Barlow to form Morningside's title-taking 200-yard freestyle relay squad. Individually she also took the title in the 100-yard backstroke.

Mahoney was the individual champion in the 200-yard individual medley as well as the 100-yard breaststroke. Ramaeker added an individual title in the 50-yard freestyle and finished behind Biesecker in the 100-yard backstroke. Schwickerath added an individual title in the 100-yard freestyle.

The Mustangs are back in the pool next weekend as Morningside celebrates family fest, competing against Gustavus Adolphus at noon on November 2.
